With the introduction of the forum and an easier avenue for tracking players I am proposing we shift from the use of NA(which often requires a completely different player to be used until yahoo introduces the player) to the use of a rookie draft where each year we would have a one or two round draft of the most recent rookie/intl signing class and all na players would instead stay off your yahoo roster and be listed here. We would likely go with a 5 player minor league limit so everyone can have their fair share of players to groom. When a player is called up in real life you can choose not to activate them on yahoo and keep them in your minor league but once they reach a set at bat or innings pitch limit then you must choose to either add them to your yahoo roster(dropping a player if you do not have an available roster spot) or release them into free agency for anyone to sign based on a waiver claim that will be set by inverse of record so last place team gets first choice and so on for a 24 hour period and if they go unclaimed would be released to regular free agency to be added at any time.
Now I know a lot of you already have NA players that you were planning to keep and you are wondering what would happen to those players well as it stands now I would propose that all teams would have the option to place as many of their na players(assuming they haven't already reached that at bat or innings pitched limit) to their minor league roster instead of using a keeper spot.
The mlb draft is in June so for ours I would do the rookie draft around the first week of July to give everyone time to research the players involved and for the initial rookie draft any minor league player or intl signing who isn't already owned will be eligble
